Header media url use

Hi,

I would like to understand about the header media URL link that goes with the header media tex and how to use it.

I’ve set the page to open the link in a new page/window and I want it to display a video introducing myself from my youtube page. However, when I click on the media text the page doesn’t open and the icon is locked!

There’s no instruction or examples on your site about header media URL (a ton on header image issues though). Please advise how I can make use of header media URL or get rid of both header media URL and text links as I don’t see the point to have a continue reading or visit header media text box that will redirect people to my website’s start page when clicked.

@aline-jewell: Go to => Appearance => Customize => Header Media => Header Media URL => Insert the URL you want to be redirected to when you click on the button Continue Reading.

Hi Skandha,

Thank you for your reply. The link I have endlessly inserted on the Header Media URL box is https://www.youtube.com/c/AlineJewell in many different ways with no avail. I’ve tried to insert other URL links as well but when I click on the button Continue Reading ( which I have retyped VISIT) the symbol in the cursor shows a sign of a circle with a diagonal red line and the page doesn’t do anything. PLEASE HELP me to sort this issue out.

@aline-jewell: I checked your site and the Visit Click button on click redirects to https://www.youtube.com/alinejewell.
You seem to have tried clicking Visit Click button from the customizer that is why you are getting a circle with a diagonal red line.
Try opening your site in a new tab and check again. It seems to be working fine.
